How to upload subtitles to YouTube?

If you're the YouTuber, you can follow these steps:

YouTube Studio > Edit Video > Subtitles > ADD/EDIT > Upload file > WITH timing > Publish

Quality control settings

CPL (characters per line) and CPS (characters per second) help you create subtitles that are easily readable and accessible.

We recommend staying under the default CPL of 42 and CPS of 20, however you are free to ignore them or choose your own CPL and CPS values below:
